De Game Awards-winnaars zijn binnen, en hoewel er heel veel winnende games waren in vele categorieën, nam één game de hoofdprijs mee naar huis: The Last of Us 2, die Game of the Year won.

In een jaar met een bijna schokkend aantal geweldige games was elke categorie gevuld met sterke kanshebbers voor de overwinning, wat The Game Awards 2020 tot een echte nagelbijter maakte. Natuurlijk waren er, zoals altijd, grote verrassingsspelonthullingen en bekende namen als Keanu Reeves, Nolan North en Troy Baker die de prijzen uitreiken.
